Wondering how Chameleon got the name? You can read the exclusive interview with the guys!
Jordan Travis - Tenor
Jordan graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance. He grew up listening to his father's barbershop bass learning tapes and began singing along a few octaves higher. Years later, Jordan still sings the high notes and has now been a part of the Barbershop Harmony Society for over 15 years. In addition to quartet singing, Jordan directs the Harbourtown Sound Chorus in Hamilton and is the Associate Director of the Toronto Northern Lights. He runs a voice studio in Burlington, where he lives with his wife Liz and his daughter Emily.
Kevin Harris - Lead
Kevin is old man of the quartet (he's over 35... *GASP*). To fit that role, Kevin has decided to shave parts of his head to look "balding", has taken to wearing glasses, and has "filled out" a bit more to better fit the role (he already had the swiss cheese-like memory and the dentures). The other members of the quartet really look up to Kevin, mostly because he's the tallest. Kevin dreams of having a career writing funny bios, though his friends tell him not to quit his day job.
Dave Baldwin - Baritone
Dave grew up singing in choirs and got hooked on barbershop in high school while listening to a chorus of middle-aged men wearing silly pink jackets. Dave has appeared with the World Youth Choir, the National Youth Choir of Canada, and the Elora Festival Singers. After relocating to Buffalo in 2008 for work, Dave chose to continue with the quartet and commute back and forth on weekends for rehearsals. Dave spends most of his spare time visiting friends back in Ontario, and updating this site.
Joel Hilchey - Bass
Joel has been involved with barbershop quartet singing since 2003. He started out young, singing in community choirs, and he’s still involved now, serving as artistic staff for the Hamilton Children’s Choir. He graduated from McMaster University in 2006 and finished his Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering at The University of Toronto in 2008. Joel is the founder of The Beanstalk Project (www.thebeanstalkproject.org) and runs in-school conferences to get more students contributing to their communities and develop leadership skills. He speaks at events and schools across North America, inspiring character by juggling, storytelling, and playing with mousetraps. Check out his personal website at www.joelhilchey.com!
